Announcements:
The Language Access Project provided over 2,400 hours of free translation and interpretation services in 2018! In 2018, Global Wordsmiths financed, coordinated and deployed: 2,450 volunteer language service hours and translated 851 vital documents, into 9 languages, for 13 local nonprofits, to connect thousands of English Learners directly to services.

New Language Access Project Cohort! From January 12 through April 20, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council, Pittsburgh Toy Lending Library, and Community Kitchen Pittsburgh will receive free translation and interpretation in Hindi, Arabic, Nepali, Spanish, Japanese and Korean. These services are vital- without language access, English learners cannot receive the services they need. Learn more.
Allegheny Health Network Partnership. We are happy to announce that Global Wordsmiths is partnering with Allegheny Health Network to bring language interpretation to each of its 8 hospitals in Western Pennsylvania and Southern New York. Stay tuned for details!

Culture Translation goes beyond reading; the act is visceral as opposed to merely intimate, and it impacts you, it teaches you in a different way... Translation is more pleasurable to me than writing fiction, given that I am in an intense relationship with a text I profoundly admire, greedy to absorb all that it has to offer.

The eight-county Rivers of Steel National Heritage area celebrates the region's industrial history, the landscape that fueled it, and the hardworking men and women who made it possible, linking the communities of the region through their shared cultural and industrial heritage.
